The Borough currently has an integrated solid waste program which includes the development, operations and maintenance for the following locations:

• Lined landfill facility
•      Central Peninsula Landfill (CPL), Soldotna
• Baling facility/landfill
•      Homer Baling/Landfill (HBF), Homer
• Inert waste monofill/landfill
•      Seward Landfill, Seward
• Rural landfills
•      Beluga, Nanwalek, Port Graham, Rocky Ridge and Tyonek
• Closed landfills
•      Kenai, Seldovia, Seward and Sterling Special Waste Site
• Transfer facilities
•      Kenai, Nikiski, Seward and Sterling
• Waste drop-box/transfer sites
•      Anchor Point, Cooper Landing, Crown Point, Funny River,
•      Hope, Kasilof, McNeil Canyon and Ninilchik

The Solid Waste Department provides recycling and hazardous waste collection stations, environmental monitoring, and litter programs to ensure feasible and cost-effective waste management in compliance with regulatory requirements.
