Individual Animal Carcasses Landfill disposal only. Notify landfill attendant/operator so carcasses can be buried immediately after disposal.
Animal Manure, Fish and Seafood Waste - Commercial generators are limited to disposal of 1,000 pounds per week at the landfill only. Disposal at transfer facilities and sites is limited to 2 trash bags per day and must be double bagged and tied off.

Homeowners can dispose of appliances in designated areas at the landfill or transfer facilities.
Commercial units must have refrigerants removed prior to disposal. Commercial disposers must dispose of appliances at the CPL and will be charged $20 per unit for each appliance containing refrigerants.
ACM is accepted by appointment only at the CPL on Monday through Friday before 2:00 PM. Disposal fee is $200.00 per ton (10 cents per pound) and includes container weight. A properly completed waste shipment manifest must accompany each load. Friable ACM must be packaged and transported in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Dispose in the landfill as long as there is no asbestos in the roofing material and the asphalt is solidified. Liquid asphalt is not permitted for disposal (contact a hazardous waste contractor).
Household (Alkaline, Nickel cadmium, etc): Place in designated containers at landfills and transfer facilities. The Borough manages the household batteries through the hazardous waste program.
Vehicle/Equipment (Lead-acid): Place in designated plastic totes at landfill and transfer facilities, no more than 10 batteries per year per person or business.
Cell Phone (NiCad): Check with cell phone suppliers- they may accept spent batteries or place in containers for household batteries.
Carbon Air: Must be disposed through the Boroughs hazardous waste program.
Place in designated area of landfill or in transfer facility bulky bin (small quantities only). Ash must be cold.
No soils, contaminated or uncontaminated, are accepted at any solid waste facility for disposal unless prior approval from the KPB Solid Waste Director has been received.
Telephone poles and railroad ties must have a core sample TCLP tested. If sample passes, provide results to the Solid Waste Department prior to disposal of in the landfill.
Drums/containers need to be empty and crushed or have one end cut out so they can be inspected to assure there is no residual material in the drum.
May be disposed in landfill/transfer facility if sign does not contain radioactive material. Check sign labels for disposal guidance.
All pressure must be released and the unit must be checked to verify that contents are removed - prefer valve removed.

IV bags and syringes with no needles are okay from households if quantity is less than 1 gallon. Unused drugs must be disposed directly in the landfill, unless they contain radioactive contents. Contact local hospital or medical facility for disposal of all other medical waste.
Containers that previously contained used oil need to be drained/emptied of all liquid and disposed with other general refuse.
Disposers can place up to 4 filters per month in designated containers at the landfill or transfer facilities. Larger quantities must be managed through the hazardous waste program.
Similar paint types should be consolidated and disposed through the hazardous waste program. Paint cans free of liquids can be thrown away as solid waste.
May be disposed in landfill or bulky bins if completely empty and pressure valves removed.
Return to manufacturer if directed in instructions. If there are no instructions, remove batteries and dispose with garbage.
Tanks need to be cleaned of any residual material. Tanks under 500 gallons must have one end cut out or an opening adequate so the interior can be inspected prior to disposal.
Large tanks need to be cut into manageable size pieces (6X6 or less). Cutting is not permitted on landfill property.
10 gallons per day - up to 25 gallons per month of uncontaminated oil can be disposed at designated facilities. Oil containing water, fuel, solvent, etc. must be disposed through the hazardous waste program.
