Site Rules and Restrictions

Place waste in the collection container. Do not deposit waste on the ground. These containers are for household garbage and small quantities of other miscellaneous, non-hazardous wastes.

Disposers with full loads in vehicles larger than a standard one ton pickup or vehicles/trailers with a carrying capacity of five (5) cubic yards or more must go to the nearest landfill. Disposers with more than the equivalent of two pickup loads per week from one location, project, agency, or business must also go to the nearest landfill.

Wastes which are prohibited from disposal in the dumpsters include, but are not limited to: hazardous waste, oil, vehicle batteries, hot ashes, concrete, appliances, furniture (a few small furniture pieces or one appliance per disposal is allowed if placed completely in the container), vehicles, vehicle frames, canopies, campers, trailers, motorized vehicles (i.e. snowmachines, 3-wheelers, motorcycles), infectious waste, liquid waste (including kitchen grease), drilling muds, soil, large quantities of construction/demolition debris or landclearing debris, asbestos, sewage, animal carcasses, animal excrement and fish waste (two plastic trash bags disposed per day of animal excrement and fish waste are accepted unless specified otherwise by the Borough - double bag must be tie securely).

Please be aware that improper fish waste disposal attracts bears and other animals and may become a hazard to the animal and/or you.

A hazardous waste disposal program is available for households and small businesses. Waste must be delivered to the collection location on scheduled collection dates. Please call the KPB Solid Waste office with any questions.

Please read signs on the recycle containers to determine what items are accepted. Make sure recyclables are clean and placed in the correct compartment. Disposers with more than the equivalent of one full pickup load of recyclables per week must take them to the nearest landfill. Recycle Locations

The Borough reserves the right to restrict or prohibit disposal as may be the in the Borough's best interest.
