FRIENDS OF KENAI NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE

Purpose The mission of the Friends of Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is to conserve the unique natural, cultural and recreational values of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge; and to promote awareness of its importance in the surrounding communities.

Through the leadership of its community volunteers, the Friends will provide support for operation of the Refuge and promote a better understanding of its natural environment. 

Projects and Activities Enhance or protect Refuge trails and historic cabins.

Assist Refuge programs with volunteers.

Develop a public conservation education/outreach program with capability in electronic and print media.

Promote expansion of the Refuge Visitor's Center.

Meetings Annual general membership meetings are generally held at the Refuge Visitor's Center, Ski Hill Road, Soldotna.

Monthly Board meetings at the Visitor's Center, on the second Saturday of the month, at 2:00 p.m., open to the public.
