MEMORANDUM

TO: Tim Navarre, Assembly President

Members, Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly

THRU: Dale Bagley, Mayor

FROM: Gary Davis, Roads Director

DATE: November 9, 2000

SUBJECT: Resolution 2000-107 supporting accelerated transportation general obligation bonds for transportation projects using future federal highway funds to repay the debt

This resolution supports the state legislature asking the voters to approve general obligation accelerated transportation bonding for certain road projects. These are projects that qualify for federal aid and would be used to expedite highway construction projects within the State of Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula Borough. Information received indicates that the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities intends to spend $15 million of the bond package on the Kenai Peninsula if it is approved. Your support of this resolution would be appreciated.
