SUBJECT: SNOW REMOVAL AND/OR SANDING OF VARIOUS BOROUGH FACILITIES 2000/01 BID TABULATION


The Maintenance Department has publicly advertised, received and opened bids for Snow Removal and/or Sanding of Various Borough Facilities for the 2000/01 season. Please find the Bid Tabulation Sheet attached. It is the intention of the Maintenance Department to award these contracts to the lowest responsive, responsible, and qualified bidders.

Redoubt View Enterprises submitted the lowest responsive bid for Snow Removal, Section A: Group 5 (Kenai Central High/Vocational Building, Kenai Middle School, and Mountain View Elementary), but requested his bid be withdrawn and no longer considered. The next lowest responsive bid was Commercial Automotive Repair & Equipment Services, Inc., but he elected to decline. The third and final responsive bidder on Section A: Group 5 was Zubeck, Inc., who has accepted the bid.

Chugach Snow Plowing and Sanding submitted the lowest responsive bid for Sanding, Section C: Group 4 (Hope Elem/High), but requested his bid be withdrawn and no longer considered. The next lowest responsive bid was Witt Enterprises, who has accepted the bid.

The lowest responsive, responsible bids are, therefore, as follows:

Yenney & Associates Construction, Inc.: Submitted the low bid of $709.00 per trip for Section B: Group 1 (Homer High, Homer Maintenance Shop, Homer Middle School, West Homer Elementary, and Paul Banks Elementary), and $404.00 per trip for Section B: Group 4 (McNeil Canyon Elementary).
