SUBJECT: SUMMER & WINTER ROAD MAINTENANCE - NORTH REGION

The Finance Department solicited proposals for the above-referenced contracts on June 7, 2000. The requests for proposals were advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, the Homer News and the Seward Phoenix Log. A separate proposal for each unit was required.

The scope of work consists of providing all labor, materials and equipment to perform summer and winter road maintenance in response to call out by Road Service Area personnel. The term of the contract commences on the date the contract is executed and extends until June 30, 2001.

Proposals will be evaluated and a recommendation will be made to the Road Service Area (RSA) board. The RSA board will review the evaluation and make a recommendation to the administration and assembly for award of contracts. The RSA board meets on June 13, 2000.

Funding for these contracts is available in the Road Service Area FY-2001 operational budget and all expenditures for the contracts will be charged to account number 236.33950.46910.

This memorandum is to provide notice to the assembly of the RSA board's forthcoming recommendation for award of contracts. A blank resolution is attached.
