SUBJECT: Resolution for Award of a Tanker Pumper for Nikiski Fire Service Area

On January 26, 2000, the Kenai Peninsula Borough solicited bids for a tanker pumper for the Nikiski Fire Service Area. Our Request for Bids was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion and the Anchorage Daily News on January 28, 2000. Bid packets were sent to a total of twelve vendors.

As of the bid due date of February 22, 2000, we had received three bid packages, two of which were deemed responsive. To ensure that minimum specifications were met, all bids were carefully reviewed by the Fire Chief and his mechanic. Attached is a copy of the recap sheet.

At their meeting held on March 8, 2000, the Nikiski Fire Service Area Board unanimously voted to award the tanker pumper bid to Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. at the cost of $343,000. Funds are available in Nikiski Fire Department Account No. 441.51111.00441.
