Subject: Resolution 2000-005, Urging the Governor and Legislature to Adopt a Balanced State and Local Fiscal Plan

Through Resolution 2000-002, the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly has identified a list of legislative issues to be addressed. Leading the list is, "Continue development of a state long-range fiscal plan that considers the direct and indirect impacts of the plan on municipal services and local taxpayers." The borough may be facing further cuts to municipal revenue sharing during the current legislative session. Resolution 2000-005 is modeled after Alaska Municipal League Resolution 2000-02, which asks that the state identify impacts of its budget actions on local governments.
