Project Description: The State Department of Administration awarded municipal grant number 8/98-007 to the Kenai Peninsula Borough for design and construction of a Kenai River Visitors Center in Soldotna (a.k.a Kenai River Center). This grant, totaling $1,750,000, became effective on October 17, 1997. During the winter and spring of 1999, the design of the facility, located @ MP 1.12 Funny River Road, was performed. The construction contract was executed on August 23, 1999.
