The Kenai Peninsula Borough Land Management Division is responsible for the acquisition,
management, and transfer of real property owned by the KPB.
Borough land is acquired either through
municipal entitlement from the State of Alaska, or by purchase,
donation, or tax foreclosure.
The Division issues all agreements for the use
of Borough land, including:
-
Permits for tourism activities, mineral
exploration, barge landings, and educational studies.
-
Leases for gun clubs, telecommunication
sites, livestock grazing, and oil field activities.
-
Easements for utilities, pipelines, and
travel ways.
The management of Borough land generates revenue
through these agreements or from the conveyance of the land into
private hands. The Division is also tasked with providing sites
for public facilities now and in the future.
The Division conducts annual land
sales making
Borough land available to individuals for purchase. Typically,
both tax foreclosure and municipal entitlement lands are included
in the sales.
