How to Volunteer
In 2002, Bear Creek volunteers responded to 97 calls and held six different certification programs in Hi-to-Low Angle Rescue, Swiftwater Rescue, Diving, ETT, EMT I, and EMT II. If interested in volunteering for one of the most challenging and rewarding organizations in the area, please call Chief Mark Beals at 224-3345 or stop by the station during one of the weekly training or business meetings. Meetings are held at the station every Thursday at 7:30 pm. Volunteer Duties To protect the lives and property of Bear Creek residents through fire prevention, suppression, and education, as well as emergency medical services. Work on scene can be both physically and mentally demanding, but also very rewarding. As a Bear Creek volunteer, you will be expected to respond to structure and wildland fires, motor vehicle accidents, emergency medical situations, and search and rescues. Being with a department requires dedication and commitment. The experiences and knowledge you will gain through BCVFD are something you will carry with you the rest of your life. |
