SUBJECT: RESOLUTION 2001-080; ROAD CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS

The Finance Department solicited and opened bids for the following road capital improvement projects on July 3, 2001 and July 9, 2001. The invitations to bid were advertised in the Peninsula Clarion and Homer News. Each project was bid separately. Bid tabulations are attached. The low responsive bid on each project, as listed below, comprises the base bid.

The base bid consists of providing all labor, materials and equipment to improve drainage, modify the roadway subbase, and enhance the driving surface in accordance with the engineer's design.

The funding for these projects is from the Road Service Area capital improvement budget. All expenditures for these projects will be charged to account number 434.33950.M5801.49999.

The attached Resolution requests Award of Contract for this work to the low responsive bidders for the bid amounts. The projects are scheduled to be substantially completed by September 2001.
