NIKISKI COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTER RENOVATIONS
The Purchasing and Contracting Office solicited and opened bids for the above-referenced project July 14, 2005. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, the Homer News and the Seward Phoenix Log. Three bids were received. The low responsive bid of $49,995.00 submitted by Holden Company of Soldotna, Alaska comprises the base bid.
The base bid consists of providing all labor, materials and equipment to complete renovations necessary to meet code requirements for a partial change in occupancy at the Nikiski Elementary School. The work of the project includes installation of new fire-rated doors and frames, metal framing, gypsum wall board work, cutting and patching, exterior concrete stoop construction, miscellaneous painting and other work as detailed in the plans and specifications.
Funding is available in the North Peninsula Recreation Service Area capital projects budget. Expenditures for the project will be charged to account number 459.61110.03213.
The attached Resolution requests Award of Contract for this work to the low responsive bidder for the bid amount. The project is scheduled to be substantially complete by October 25, 2005.
