Authorizing Award of Contract for the Purchase of Landfill Excavator

The Purchasing Department solicited and received bids for an excavator for the Homer Landfill. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion.

Bids for an excavator were opened on July 19, 2005 with four vendors submitting bids as shown on the attached bid tab form.

Award of contract to Craig Taylor Equipment Company is recommended in the amount of $137,156 for the Base Bid and $3,251 for the Additive Alternate 1, an extended five-year warranty.

Funds are available in the Equipment Replacement Fund account 705.00000.00000.18420.
