SUBJECT: Resolution 2005-066, West Brook Estates RIAD Street Paving Project #WESTB

The Kenai Peninsula Borough solicited bids for the West Brook Estates road capital improvement project on June 14, 2005. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion June 14, 17 & 21, 2005. The bid due date is July 7, 2005. As authorized by KPB 22.40.050 (E), this resolution is submitted with blanks since the bids will not be received and opened prior to the packet closure date of June 29, 2005. This action is needed to allow this project to be completed this construction season.

On February 15, 2005 the assembly adopted resolution 2005-008 to form the West Brook Estates Road Improvement Assessment District and to proceed with the improvement. The Roads Service Area Board adopted resolution 2004-06 to fund a 50 (%) percent match (up to $106,978) from the RIAD Match Fund.

The estimated total cost of the project is $213,956. All expenditures for the contracts will be charged to account number: 884.92024.WESTB.49101.

The attached resolution requests award of contract for this work to the low responsive bidder for the total bid amount. The low responsive bid information will be provided to the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly on July 12, 2005.
