SUBJECT: Resolution 2005-056, Award of Construction Services For the Kenai Peninsula Borough Emergency Response Center Building Construction
The Purchasing and Contracting Department solicited and opened bids for this capital project on June 15, 2005, and the bids are listed in the bid tabulation attached. The Invitation to Bid was published in the Anchorage Daily News on May 19, 2005 and the Peninsula Clarion on May 12 and 17, 2005, Homer News and the Seward Phoenix Log on May 12 and 19, 2005.
The project consists of constructing the Emergency Response Center that will house CES Administration, 911 Dispatch and Office of Emergency Management including an Emergency Operation Center. The first floor area is 7,567 sq. ft with a small second floor of 1,602 sq. ft. Work is anticipated to be complete by August 1, 2006.
The possible additive alternates are as follows: Alternate #1, Casework; Alternate #2, Fencing; Alternate #3, Operable Partition; Alternate #4, Paving; Alternate #5, Redundant Boiler; and Alternate #6, Elevator.
The attached Resolution requests Award of Contract for this work to ________________, for the base bid of $______________ and Additive Alternates ______________ for a total bid of $___________________.
The majority of the construction funding for this project is from the U.S. Department of Justice Technology COPS grant; also, supplemental construction funds are delineated in Ordinance 2004-19-29. Expenditures for this project will be charged to account 455.53110.05EOC.
