SUBJECT: Resolution 2005-055, Approving the construction of LaCross Way.

This resolution approves the construction of LaCross Way. LaCross Way is currently on our road maintenance system and is a major safety issue. The project will relocate the road to a safer location with the approval of involved property owners.

The existing road slopes down toward the intersection of Sterling Highway with no "landing" creating a major safety issue in the winter. There have been numerous near misses with cars sliding onto the highway during icy conditions. The current intersection also has a sight distance problem with a hill obstructing the view of the oncoming traffic.

The new location will alleviate these safety issues. The new road location will be dedicated across a private parcel of land by the owner. The Road Service Area will survey and plat the new location and eliminate the existing right-of-way to an adjoining parcel.

This project has been on the Road Service Areas Capital Improvement Project list for some time. The Road Service Area unanimously passed Road Service Area Resolution 2005-04 at its board meeting on May 10,2005 recommending approval of the construction of the relocation of LaCross Way.
