SUBJECT: Resolution accepting equipment from the Southern Region Emergency Medical Services Council, Inc. on behalf of Kachemak Emergency Services
Southern Region Emergency Medical Services Council, Inc., ("Southern Region") is a nonprofit corporation that serves as a resource center for emergency medical response agencies. Kachemak Emergency Services ("KES") submitted an application to Southern Region for rescue equipment, specifically a LifePak 12 defibrillator/monitor. KES serves a large, rural community. Having a LifePak 12 will enable KES responders to provide improved service to their patients.
Notice was received from Southern Region that KES's application has been approved. (See attached copy of notice.) Southern Region will purchase the equipment and then provide it to KES. A 10 percent match from KES is required before the equipment can be purchased. Funds are available in the service area's FY05 approved budget to meet the match requirement. On February 24, 2005, the KES Board approved receipt of the equipment and expenditure of the matching funds. (See attached copy of email from Mary Griswold.)
