Authorizing Award of Contracts for the Purchase of Central Peninsula Landfill Equipment

The Purchasing and Contracting Office solicited and will open bids for the above referenced project on December 1, 2004. The authorization to award contracts for landfill equipment is time critical, and it is necessary to award the contract at the December 7, 2004 assembly meeting as there will not be another meeting until January 4, 2005.

Pursuant to KPB 22.40.050(E), a blank resolution is provided as the bid opening is after the packet deadline for the December 7 meeting. Prior to the meeting, a bid tabulation will be provided detailing bidders names, bid amounts, and other applicable information.

Equipment includes a front-end wheel loader, waste disposal crawler tractor, small loader, wheel scraper, and roll-off truck. Equipment delivery time is estimated to be 75 to 120 days depending on equipment.

Funding is available in the solid waste bond account and equipment replacement fund account.
