SUBJECT: Resolution 2004-114; Authorizing Central Peninsula General Hospital to purchase a Picture Archive and Communications System (PACS)

The attached resolution authorizes Central Peninsula General Hospital, Inc. to purchase and install a Picture Archive and Communications System (PACS) with computed Radiology and a 3D work and review station, in an amount not to exceed $858,800.00.

A team of technicians within CPGH Inc. have evaluated the product lines of multiple manufacturers. Based on this extensive evaluation process CPGH Inc. has determined that DR Systems Inc. offers the best overall solution for the hospital's picture archiving needs. DR Systems Inc. has submitted the lowest responsive bid in the amount of $858,800.00. Minimal facility modifications will be required to accommodate the installation of the new PACS equipment and will be administered by hospital personnel.

The CPGH Inc. operating board and the Central Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area board have approved the purchase and installation of the Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS).

The capital equipment purchase has been budgeted in the FY05 Service Area Fund in the amount of $853,000 in account number 490.81111.05CH1.48515. The additional $5,800 will be appropriated from the CPGH Operations Imaging budget.
