SUBJECT: Resolution 2004-095 A Resolution Authorizing Award Of A Contract For Soldotna High School Pavement Crack and Joint Sealing

The Kenai Peninsula Borough solicited and opened bids for the above-referenced project on September 15, 2004. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion on September 7th and in the Anchorage Daily News on September 5th.

One bid was received in the amount of $78,000. The bid submitted by U.S. Coating LLC/Alaska Sure Seal is fair and reasonable and the bidder is qualified to perform the work. The total bid consists of providing all labor, materials, equipment and tools to prepare and seal the existing pavement cracks and joints at Soldotna High School in the area(s) indicated in the contract documents.

Funding is available in account number 400.76020.8024A.43011. Please consider the attached resolution, authorizing award to U.S. Coating LLC/Alaska Sure Seal of Soldotna, Alaska.

Due to the time of year and possibility of weather prohibiting execution of this work, Alaska Sure Seal has submitted a letter stating that they will honor this bid price through June 2005. A copy of the letter is attached.
