SUBJECT: Resolution 2004-064 Authorizing Award of Contracts for the FY 05 Summer & Winter Road Maintenance Central Region Units 6, 7, 8, 11 and South Region Unit 5

The Kenai Peninsula Borough opened proposals for the above-referenced projects on June 8, 2004. The request for proposals was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion on May 13, 16, and 20, and the Homer News on May 13 and 20, 2004.

The contracts consist of providing all labor, materials and equipment to perform summer and winter road maintenance.

The attached resolution requests award of contracts for this work to the highest ranking proposers. The RSA Evaluation Committee evaluated proposals consistent with the criteria established in the RFP and the results are as follows:

v Central Unit 6: D & L Construction

v Central Unit 7: Norris & Sons General Contractor

v Central Unit 8: 2 Bears Trucking

v Central Unit 11: Norris & Sons General Contractor

v South Unit 5: Northfield Enterprises

Funding is available in the FY05 Road Service Area operating budget. Expenditures for the contracts will be charged to account number 236.33950.46910.
