NANWALEK SCHOOL ROOF REPLACEMENT

The Purchasing and Contracting Office solicited and opened bids for the above-referenced project June 2, 2004. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, the Homer News and the Seward Phoenix Log. Three bids were received. The low responsive bid of $215,000.00 submitted by Homer Roofing, LLC of Homer, Alaska comprises the base bid.

The base bid consists of providing all labor, materials and equipment to remove approximately 12,500 SF of existing roofing and to install new roofing, including asphaltic shingles and EPDM membrane roofing at the Nanwalek School located in Nanwalek, Alaska. The scope of work includes structural improvements to the existing roof in some locations.

Funding is available in the school bond capital projects budget. Expenditures for the project will be charged to account number 401.71030.00NAN.

The attached Resolution requests Award of Contract for this work to the low responsive bidder for the bid amount. The project is scheduled to be substantially complete by August 20, 2004.
