SUBJECT: Resolution 2004-046, Authorizing Award of Contract for the Soldotna Middle School Fire System.
The Purchasing and Contracting Office solicited and opened bids for the above-referenced project on April 7, 2004. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Anchorage Daily News on March 18th, and in the Peninsula Clarion on March 10th & 17th and in the Homer News and the Seward Phoenix Log on March 11th and 18th. Four bids were received, and one was deemed non-responsive. The low responsive bid of $157,600.00 was submitted by Quality Electric.
The Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment for the installation of a fire detection and alarm system in Soldotna Middle School. Work is anticipated to be substantially complete prior to August 1, 2004.
Funding is available in the school bond capital projects budget. Expenditures for the project will be charged to account number 401.76030.00SMS.49101.
The attached resolution requests award of contract for this work to the low responsive bidder for the bid amount.
