Central Peninsula Landfill Expansion - Phase II
The Purchasing and Contracting Office solicited and opened bids for the above referenced project on April 7, 2004. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, Seward Phoenix Log, Homer News, and Anchorage Daily News. Three bids were received.
The lowest cost qualified and responsive bid of $3,390,000 was submitted by Wolverine Supply, Inc. from Wasilla, Alaska.

The work consists of development of a lined landfill cell; leachate collection, recirculation, and gas system; access road development; mechanical building with pumps, blowers, and backup generator; stormwater control system; and other improvements.
This is the second phase of a multi-year project. The first phase, clearing and excavation was completed in November 2003.
The attached resolution requests approval for award of contract for this work. Funding is available in the solid waste bond capital projects budget. Expenditures for the project will be charged to account number 401.32122.03SWB.
