Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly Members
THRU: Dale Bagley, Mayor
THRU: Richard Campbell, General Services Director
FROM: Walter Robson, CPD, Director
DATE: February 3, 2004
SUBJECT: Resolution 2004-023, ESTABLISHING AN ADDITIONAL CAPITAL PROJECTS DEPARTMENT PROJECT MANAGER POSITION
The attached Resolution requests the establishment of an additional project manager position for the upcoming bonded projects that evolved through the Fall 2003 bond election.
The extent of field inspection with the predominately two major projects, Seward Middle School and later the CPGH Expansion projects, will necessitate responsibility for a separate field representative position.
With the presently listed CIP projects slated for 2004/05, totaling approximately $87M, the entire staff will be busy with all projects, large and small. For the two specifically listed projects the extent of earthwork inspection time far exceeds that available through the present staff level. The initial clearing, grubbing, site excavation and utilities for each project will be the initial phase work. Later in the year and on into 2005, the follow-up structural and civil work for each project will continue to demand the attention of this position.
Funding for this project manager position is from each respective Capital Improvement Project budget, with the first line of duties being attributed to 401.75030.03SEW. A copy of the job description is attached.
