SUBJECT: Resolution 2003-118 A Resolution requesting the Alaska Board of Fisheries to hold the next Upper Cook Inlet Area meeting concerning all finfish in the Kenai/Soldotna Area
This resolution requests the next Alaska Board of Fisheries meeting addressing Upper Cook Inlet finfish be held in the Kenai/Soldotna Area. The majority of finfish proposals considered by the Board of Fisheries pertain to the Kenai, Kasilof and other Central District Salmon runs and the commercial, sports and personal use fisheries dependent on these runs.
The Board of Fish last met in the Kenai/Soldotna area in 1999. By conducting the hearing in the local area it will make public participation easier for those effected by the decisions of the Board of Fish. It will also allow the Board of Fish members to view the rivers and infrastructure created by the finfish fisheries.
