Solid Waste and Recycle Container Hauling - Area 1
The Purchasing and Contracting Office solicited and opened bids for the above referenced project on October 8, 2003. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, Seward Phoenix Log and Homer News. Two bids were received.
Peninsula Sanitation submitted the lowest cost qualified and responsive bid in the amount of $226,583.35.

The contract commences March 1, 2004 for a one-year term with the option to renew for up to four (4) additional years through two separate two (2) year extensions.
The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary for operating and maintaining solid waste disposal sites and hauling waste and recyclables to the Central Peninsula Landfill in Soldotna.
The attached resolution requests approval for award of contract for this work. Funding is available in the solid waste operating budget. Expenditures for the project will be charged to account number 290.32570.43011.
