Subject: Resolution 2003-099: Authorizing the lease of space at the Funny River Fire Department and Disaster Relief Building for storing a CES medic unit.

Pursuant to Ordinance 2003-19-05, $25,000 has been appropriated from the CES Operating Fund Balance to Funny River Emergency Services, Inc (FRES) for prepaid rent in the Funny River Fire Station. Also, the Mayor has been authorized to negotiate an agreement with FRES to rent space for the use of Central Peninsula Emergency Medical Service Area equipment. Such negotiations were recently completed.

Attached is a resolution authorizing the lease of 800 square feet of space in the Funny River Fire Department and Disaster Relief Building, with KPB as the Lessee, through an agreement substantially similar to the one attached hereto. The term of this agreement is for 4 years and 2 months, to automatically renew for indefinite additional terms of 1 year, subject to the appropriation of funds. Rent shall be $500 per month, with the original 4 year and 2 month term prepaid in the amount of $25,000. This resolution authorizes the mayor to execute all necessary documents to effectuate such lease.

The resolution specifies that expenditures for the lease will be charged to the CES Operating Fund, Acct No. 211.51610.43810.
