MOOSE PASS SCHOOL ROOF REPLACEMENT - PHASE TWO

The Purchasing and Contracting Office solicited and opened bids for the above-referenced project on May 7, 2003. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, the Homer News, the Seward Phoenix Log and the Anchorage Daily News. Four bids were received. The low responsive bid of $97,856.00 submitted by Peninsula Roofing, Inc. of Soldotna, Alaska comprises the base bid.

The base bid consists of providing all labor, materials and equipment to replace approximately 4,000 sq. ft. of roofing at Moose Pass School. The work includes the demolition of existing and the installation of new rigid insulation and built-up roofing, as well as the installation of a new roof drainage system including roof drains, rain leader piping and drywell construction.

Funding is available in the school bond capital projects budget. Expenditures for the project will be charged to account number 401.71070.00RF2.

The attached Resolution requests Award of Contract for this work to the low responsive bidder for the bid amount. The project is scheduled to be substantially complete by August 15, 2003.
