Award of Contract for Professional Design Services

Nikiski Emergency Escape Route Improvement Project

The Purchasing & Contracting Department solicited and opened proposals for this project on January 9, 2003. The Request for Proposals was published in the Peninsula Clarion and the Homer News. Three proposals were received.

The project consists of clearing the right-of-way where needed to provide a 60- foot clear zone, widen road where needed to provide a consistent 26-foot driving surface, provide paving provisions (amount to be determined based upon available funding), and provide a drainage system to accommodate the terrain and average weather conditions.

The three proposals received were evaluated in accordance with criteria set forth in the request for proposals per the attached Tabulation. The Resolution requests award of contract to McLane Consulting Group, as the high point firm, for the amount of $67,510.00.

The funding for this project is from the State Legislative Grant Agreement Number 03-DC-069. All expenditures for this project will be charged to account number 441.51111.03069.
