MEMORANDUM
TO: Pete Sprague, Assembly President
Members, Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly
THRU: Dale Bagley, Mayor
FROM: Colette Thompson, Borough Attorney
Gary Davis, Roads Director
DATE: November 7, 2002
SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-140, authorizing construction of the Brody Bridge
During the recent flooding of the lower peninsula, Brody Bridge was destroyed. Brody Bridge provides access to residents of the Kinrod, Brandywine Acres, Barnard, and Emil Jeske Subdivisions in which approximately 50 people reside. Temporary access is being provided through an alternate bridge, but the replacement of Brody Bridge should begin as soon as possible in order to complete construction before next spring. As the washout occurred during the flood, there has not been sufficient time to submit this to the road service area board prior to the packet deadline for the November 19, 2002 meeting. Accordingly, the resolution contains blanks for the road service area board actions. These should be completed following the November 12, 2002 road service area board meeting at which action will be requested on this project.
