SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-131, Supporting the Department of Natural Resources' Kasilof River Scenic Overlook TRAAK Project Nomination

This resolution is submitted at the request of the Department of Natural Resources to support it's nomination of the Kasilof River Scenic Overlook TRAAK project for the 2004-2006 Statewide Transportation Improvement Project ("STIP") List. As described in the resolution the Kasilof River State Recreation Site is one of the most popular access sites on the Kasilof River for boating and sport fishing. The state plans to make safety and recreational access improvements to this site and needs STIP funding to complete the project. This resolution in support of the nomination will improve the project's standing on the STIP list, increasing the likelihood that it will be funded.
