SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-121, Mobile Communications/Command Vehicle Contract Award

The Purchasing and Contracting Department solicited bids for the above-referenced equipment on July 15, 2002. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion and the Anchorage Daily News, and bid packages were sent to sixteen (16) suppliers. One responsive bid was received on the due date of August 21, 2002, for $285,615.00, submitted by Lynch Diversified Vehicles of Burlington, WI.

The base bid consists of providing all labor, materials, and equipment to build a mobile communications vehicle to be used by the borough in conjunction with local governments and state agencies to coordinate disaster response for hazards occurring in the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

The attached resolution requests award of a contract for the purchase of the mobile command vehicle. The funding for this project is available in account number 262.21320.02EMR.48514.
