SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-102 , Award of Contract Services for Port Graham Landfill Improvements

The Finance Department solicited and received three bids for the Port Graham Landfill Improvements project on July 11, 2002. The Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, Seward Phoenix Log and Homer News.

CIC, Inc. submitted the lowest cost qualified and responsible bid of $103,200.

The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary for construction of site improvements at the Port Graham Landfill. Work includes excavation for landfill expansion, interim closure and seeding of a one-half acre of filled landfill area, construction of a small gravel pad, installation of perimeter fencing, hauling of inert debris from Port Graham to the Homer landfill and miscellaneous other work.

CIC, Inc. is hereby recommended for award of contract for the not to exceed amount of $103,200.

Expenditures for the project will be charged to solid waste department closure and capital account numbers, 290.25110 and 411.32170.03PGL.
