SUBJECT: RESOLUTION 2002-100; CENTRAL PENINSULA GENERAL HOSPITAL

Authorizing the purchase and installation of a Digital Radiographic and Fluoroscopic System

The attached resolution authorizes Central Peninsula General Hospital, Inc. to purchase and install a digital radiographic & fluoroscopic ("R&F") system in an amount not to exceed $373,000.

The CPGH Inc. Medical Director, Imaging Services Director, and lead CT Technologist evaluated the product lines of five manufacturers and determined that Seimens offered the best overall solutions for the hospital's radiographic needs. Based on this extensive evaluation process, the hospital staff has further recommended that the hospital standardize its radiographic equipment, with Seimens being the provider. The purchase and installation of the Siemens radiographic & fluoroscopic system is consistent with the hospital's standardizing efforts.

The CPGH Inc.operating board as well as the Central Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area board have approved the purchase and installation of the digital radiographic and fluoroscopic system.

The digital radiographic and fluoroscopic system project was approved in fiscal year 2002 capital projects budget. Funds are available in account number 600.81111.02DRF.48516. Additional facility modifications will be required to accommodate the installation of the digital radiographic and fluoroscopic system and will be administered by hospital personnel. The remodeling project award will be approved by the mayor and included in the mayor's report at the August 6, 2002, assembly meeting.
