SUBJECT: 2002 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS

The Finance Department solicited proposals for the above-referenced contracts. As bid opening will be on June 13, 2002, this resolution is submitted in blank form. A completed resolution will be provided on June 18, 2002. The requests for proposals were advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, Seward Phoenix Log, and Homer News. A separate bid form and bid schedule for each project was required.

Single proposals were submitted for six (6) projects located in the Central, North and South regions. In Central Region _____ proposals were received for Project C02-01, _____ proposals were received for Project C02-02, and _____ proposals were received for Project C02-04. In North Region _____ proposals were received for Project N02-01 and _____ proposals were received for Project N02-02. In South Region _____ proposals were received for Project S02-03. The proposals are fair and reasonable, and the contractors are qualified to perform the work of the contract.

The scope of work consists of providing all labor, materials, and equipment to perform upgrades on the named projects per the project manual. The term of the contract commences from the date of Notice to Proceed and extends for 45 days.

Funding for these contracts is available in the Road Service Area FY-2002 operational budget, and all expenditures for the contracts will be charged to account number 434.33950.M5802.49999.

This memorandum requests Award of Contract to the following contractors for the following projects:
