SUBJECT: RESOLUTION 2002-084; REDOUBT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GYM STORAGE EXPANSION

This project was included in the supplemental project list in Ordinance 2001-19-30 passed on February 19, 2002. All work must be completed by the opening of school; therefore, we are attempting to maximize the available time for construction by including a blank Resolution in this packet while this project is out for bid. We are requesting that we be able to supply the subsequent bid information at the Assembly Committee meeting on June 18.

The Finance Department solicited and opened bids for the above-referenced project on June 5, 2002. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, the Homer News, the Seward Phoenix Log and the Anchorage Daily News. _____ bids were received. The low responsive bid of $_____________ submitted by _______________ of _____________________, Alaska comprises the base bid.

The project consists of constructing a wood framed ~20' X 80' attached storage area for stowage of gym equipment. Work is to include excavation, foundation, framing, electrical and finish work; all work will be at Redoubt Elementary School located at 486 W. Redoubt Ave., Soldotna, Alaska.

Funding is available in the capital projects budget. Expenditures for the project will be charged to account number 400.76040.STORE.

The attached Resolution requests Award of Contract for this work to the low responsive bidder for the bid amount.
