SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-079, Award of Contract Services for the Anchor Point Solid Waste Transfer Site Construction


The Finance Department solicited and received five bids for the Solid Waste Transfer Site Construction at Anchor Point project on June 3, 2002. The Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, Seward Phoenix Log and Homer News.

Peninsula Construction Inc. submitted the lowest cost qualified and responsible bid of $256,275.

The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary for construction of site improvements at the Anchor Point Transfer Site located on the Old Sterling Highway. Work includes construction of a large gravel pad, concrete retaining walls, earthen berms, an access road and miscellaneous other work.

Peninsula Construction Inc. is hereby recommended for award of contract for the not to exceed amount of $256,275.

Expenditures for the project will be charged to solid waste department capital account numbers 411.32220.00302, 411.32220.01TSM, 411.32220.02TSM and 411.32220.03TSM (subject to appropriation).
