SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-035, Award of Professional Engineering Services for the KRC Embankment Rehabilitation Project.

The Finance Department solicited and opened bids for this bonded capital project on March 18, 2002. The Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion on February 27, March 4 and 7, and in the Homer News and the Seward Phoenix Log on March 7, 2002.

The project consists of providing professional design services for developing a detailed plan for rehabilitating the north embankment at the Kenai River Center, designing the required trails, high bank and water entry stairs, ELP walkways and associated appurtenances.

This firm's response to the RFP was the singular proposal received and was deemed acceptable by the reviewing KRC committee. The attached Proposal Tabulation lists the firm of Wm. J. Nelson & Associates, as the single firm, with an acceptable proposal amount of $29,620.

The funding for this project is from the compilation of KRC embankment re-vegetation grants' budgets. All expenditures for this design portion will be charged to account number 409. 21135.RVR04.
