SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-____

During the committee meetings held February 5, 2002, the assembly discussed funding from the state for major improvements and maintenance of borough roads. It was learned that the state may not proceed with GARVEE bonds and is considering general obligation bonds or other possible alternative financing for road maintenance and improvement projects. This resolution adopts the list of roads requiring such maintenance and improvements and requests that the state include these roads in any legislation providing such funding. The road service area board is scheduled to meet on February 19, 2002, which is the same night as the assembly meeting. It is anticipated that the road service area board will take this action up early in its meeting and will communicate to the assembly any recommendation that it adopts prior to the assembly's taking action that same evening.
