SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-021; Seward Transfer Facility

Concrete Tipping Floor Renovations

The Finance Department solicited and opened bids for the Seward Transfer Facility Concrete Tipping Floor Renovations on February 1, 2002. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, Seward Phoenix Log, Homer News and Anchorage Daily News.

The base bid consists of providing all labor, materials and equipment to provide approximately 2,062 square feet of concrete topping over the existing tipping facility floor surface.

The attached Resolution requests Award of Contract for this work to Swalling Construction Company, Inc. the low responsive bidder for the bid amount of $31,000.

The funding for the project is from the solid waste capital improvement budget. Expenditures for the project will be charged to account numbers 411.32150.99STF and 411.32150.02STF.
