SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-009, Award of Professional Engineering Seward Middle School Code Review Project.

The Finance Department solicited and opened proposals for this capital project on January 2, 2002. The Request for Proposals was advertised in the Anchorage Daily News and the Peninsula Clarion on December 11 and 18, 2002, Homer News and the Seward Phoenix Log on December 13 and 20, 2001.

The project consists of providing professional code review services for renovating Seward Middle School. The Proposals Tabulation lists the responding firms. Three proposals were received and were graded per the attached Tabulation of Scores. The appended Resolution requests Award of Contract for this work to Enterprise Engineering Inc., as the high point firm, for the Base Bid and Reimbursable Amount of $69,787.00.

The first review of these proposals indicated that all proposed fees exceeded the available funds. The Finance Department negotiated with the respondents as necessary, to assure a successful award.

The funding for this project is from the Capital Improvement Projects budget. All expenditures for this project will be charged to account number 400.75030.02CDR.49999.
