RESOLUTION 98-064 |
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING ABSENTEE BY MAIL PRECINCTS
AS PROVIDED IN KPB 4.50.015
WHEREAS, KPB 4.05.015 provides that those precincts which had less
than 75 voters voting at the last regular municipal election may be designated as absentee
by mail precincts by resolution of the assembly; and
WHEREAS, several precincts experienced a voter turnout of less than 75
voters at the October 1997 regular municipal election; and
WHEREAS, designating these precincts as absentee by mail precincts
will result in a cost savings to the borough and should also result in a larger voter
turnout than would be expected if polling places were set up in these areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH:
SECTION 1. In accordance with KPB 4.05.015, the following precincts are designated absentee by mail precincts:
Cooper Landing Nanwalek
Hope Port Graham
Kachemak Bay Tyonek
Moose Pass
SECTION 2. This resolution takes effect immediately upon passage.
