RESOLUTION 98-063

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A STATE APPLICATION FOR

FEDERAL HIGHWAY FUNDS TO IMPROVE THE CLAM

GULCH BEACH ACCESS ROAD

WHEREAS, the Clam Gulch Beach Access Road has been in poor condition for many years and is in need of major work to provide safe access for both vehicles and pedestrians; and

WHEREAS, the Clam Gulch Beach Access Road provides access to the Cook Inlet Beach from Clam Gulch and is vital for both commerce and recreation in the Clam Gulch area; and

WHEREAS, the Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation is submitting an application for a federal highway grant to improve the Clam Gulch Beach Access Road; and

WHEREAS, Kenai Peninsula Borough residents in the Kasilof/Clam Gulch Area have voiced their support for these proposed road improvements through a petition sponsored by Brother Tom Patmor;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH:
