A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE NEWSPAPER AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THE 1998 PROPERTY TAX FORECLOSURE LIST FOR THE TAX YEAR 1997 AND THE

DELINQUENT PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX LIST AND

DELINQUENT REAL PROPERTY LEASE LIST

WHEREAS, the Borough is required by statute to publish an annual foreclosure list setting forth the names and amounts of all delinquent real property taxes; and

WHEREAS, the Borough requested bids from newspapers of general circulation for the performance of all work required to print, publish, and distribute the 1998 property tax foreclosure list for tax year 1997, the delinquent personal property tax list and the delinquent real property lease list; and

WHEREAS, the finance department estimates the contractor will be required to publish approximately 300-325 computer-generated pages for the 1998 property tax foreclosure list and approximately 80-90 computer-generated pages for the delinquent personal property tax list and delinquent real property lease list; and

WHEREAS, the finance department has evaluated the bid and recommends an award of contract to the Peninsula Clarion; and

WHEREAS, the assembly is required by Borough Code to designate the newspaper that will publish the foreclosure list and delinquency lists.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH:

SECTION 1. That the bid of the Peninsula Clarion to perform all work necessary to print, publish, and distribute the 1998 tax foreclosure list for the 1997 tax year for a unit price of $70.40 per computer-generated page and the delinquent personal property tax list and delinquent real property lease list for a unit price of $19.10 per computer-generated page is accepted, and that a contract for this work is awarded to this designated newspaper.

The total contract price shall be determined by multiplying the number of computer-generated pages which the contractor must publish by the bid price per page. All expenditures for this contract shall be charged to account 100.114040.43310.

SECTION 2. That beginning in February 1998, the tax foreclosure list shall be published one (1) time per week for four (4) consecutive weeks and the delinquent personal property list and delinquent real property lease list shall be published one (1) time during one (1) week.
