Thru: Dale L. Bagley, Borough Mayor

From: Mark Fowler, Purchasing & Contracting Officer

Date: November 24, 2004

Subject: Ordinance 2004-19-31, An Ordinance Authorizing the Purchase of a Dual Head Nuclear Gamma Camera for the Central Peninsula General Hospital for a Not-to-Exceed Cost of $339,257

The Central Peninsula General Hospital, Inc. (CPGH, Inc.) current camera is nine years old, has become obsolete and outdated, and can no longer provide the types of tests needed. Therefore, the purchase of a Dual Head SPECT Gamma Camera will enhance the nuclear cardiology program at Central Peninsula General Hospital.

CPGH, Inc. has identified, through Healthtrust Purchasing Group, that the best price for the dual head nuclear gamma camera is being offered by Philips Medical Systems N.A. in the amount of $323,102, including accessories and training. A 5 percent contingency, in the amount of $16,155, has been added to address building modifications to accommodate the equipment if required, bringing the total to $339,257.

The attached ordinance requests the assembly to approve the purchase of a dual head nuclear gamma camera for an amount not to exceed $339,257.

All expenditures for this project will be charged to Account No.490.81111.05CH3.49999.
