SUBJECT: Ordinance No. 2004-19-16: Accepting and appropriating a state grant for purchase and installation of a flashing warning beacon in Funny River

The Central Peninsula Emergency Medical Service Area wishes to install a flashing warning beacon at the Funny River Emergency Services facility. The warning beacon would flash when emergency vehicles are exiting the station.

Funding for the project was included in Senate Bill 283, which was passed by the Legislature and signed by the Governor in July 2004. The State Department of Community and Economic Development has notified the Borough of the availability of $10,000 for this project.

A public hearing date of November 16 has been requested. The Central Emergency Service Area board, which has responsibility for CPEMS activities, is scheduled to meet on October 21. Acceptance of the grant will be on their meeting agenda. The results of the board meeting action will be provided to the Assembly on or before November 16.
