SUBJECT: Ordinance 2003-44, amending KPB Chapter 5.12 to permit boats used as a primary residence to be included in the senior citizen exemption from property taxes

Upon further reviewing this ordinance, the administration requests that the assembly amend the first whereas as shown below as a final determination has not been made that the boat in question is used as a primary residence and permanent place of abode:

Amend the first whereas clause as follows:

WHEREAS, the borough received a request for a senior exemption on a boat claimed to be used as a primary residence and permanent place of abode, but was unable to approve the exemption because of the express classification of boats as personal property; and
